The first days in Novo the weather was terrible, 41 meters pr. second and it snowed heavily. It was difficult to get any work done in this weather and we mostly stayed at Oasis during the storm. For the last three days the weather has been very good and the forecast is good. The first days we were working on the cars to make sure they were ready to tackle the tasks that awaits. Yesterday I went on a short tour with the Russians to test the cars and they were very happy.
A plane landed in Cape Town yesterday with the staff at White Desert. I met them at the airport and drove them to their premises. Then I helpd with unloading the plane.
tli and his companions have started their expedition to the high plateau and from what I have heard everything is going great. They had some problems with the bumpers of one of the vehicles but were able to fix that and continue.
It is easy to keep busy here, lots of tasks that awaits, but the workplace here is a bit primitive!

Fyrstu dagana okkar í Novo var veðrið mjög vont, 41 metri á sekúndu og mikil snjókoma. Við gátum því lítið unnið og héldum til í Oasis. Síðustu 3 dagana hefur veðrið verið mjög gott og veðurspáin er góð áfram. Fyrstu dagarnir fóru í að koma bílunum í gang og tryggja að þeir séu tilbúnir í verkefnin sem bíða. Í gær prófuðum við bílana með Rússunum og þeir voru mjög ánægðir með stöðuna.
Það kom flugvél inn frá Cape Town í dag og með henni kom starfsfólki frá White Desert. Ég tók á móti þeim og ók þeim frá flugvellinum. Svo hjálpaði ég til við að afferma vélina.
Atli og félagar eru lagðir af stað upp á hásléttuna og mér heyrist að allt gangi þar að óskum. Þeir lentu þó í einhverjum smá vandræðum með dempara en náðu að redda því og héldu ferðinni áfram.
Það vantar ekki verkefnin hér en vinnuaðstæðan er vissulega nokkuð frumstæð.
