Arctic Trucks Polar Crossing

In the 1950’s Sir Vivian Fuchs lead a team using vehicles to cross Antarctica, starting on the Ronne Iceshelf and meeting up with Sir Edmund Hillary and team at South Pole with supplies for Fuchs. Then they travelled together onto Ross Ice-shelf and onwards to McMurdo. Having not found any information that any vehicles have crossed the other direction from Ross to Ronne, this should be the first vehicle expedition doing so.It also gives sense of the magnitude we face on the Antarctica plateau and how incredible alone you are there. Benefitting from the tracks of the South Pole Traverse it took the expedition to drive from start/end of the Ross Ice-shelf all the way to South Pole only 18 hours and 22 minutes. The drive from South Pole to Union Glacier via Constellation Inlet at Ronne Iceshelf took them 3 days and 4 minutes.
