AT POLAR EXPEDITIONS

Vehicles opening the possibilities of a continent

Polar regions have long been accessible only to explorers pushing the limits of fitness and endurance.  Now you can journey across what Roald Amundsen called a “fairy tale” landscape without leaving home for years at a time or training for longer.  Our expeditions join with a rich history of explorers from Sir James Clark Ross and Roald Amundsen to Sir Vivian Fuchs and Sir Edmund Hillary.

Our expeditions are trucks supported and range from family friendly journeys to record-breaking expeditions.

SOUTH POLE

Drive to the end of the compass. The south pole has called to explorers for centuries.  Standing at the pole, on the very axis of our planet is where theoretical knowledge about the planet and our place in universe is played out in reality: there is one sunset and one sunrise per year; all timezones converge; the compass point points straight down; and you can walk around the planet in a short stroll. A highlight of the expedition will be reaching a place with fewer annual visitors than Mount Everest!

CONTINENT CROSSING

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime as you cross the 7th continent via the South Pole! The journey takes us through the coldest, highest, and driest area in the world. A paradise of challenges for expeditioners and adventurers alike. The first successful crossing of Antarctica was completed by Sir Vivian Fuchs supported by Sir Edmund Hillary in Massey Fergusen vehicles from the Ronne to the Ross Ice Shelf. The geographical South Pole, at the bottom of the world, is where every time zone merges in one point and there is only a single sunrise and sunset a year. This is what it’s all about!

Cross the Last Continent in Your Own Car

Travel across Antarctica in a custombuilt car!  Previous clients have used vehicles to raise awareness for their foundations and continue explorations at home.

Wind your way towards the Magnetic North Pole across frozen ocean and ancient lands.

Exploration in the Northwest Passage has a tragic and heroic heritage.  Travel through the heart of this historic region and visit sites of exploratory and scientific significance.

In 2007 Arctic Trucks became the first wheeled vehicles to visit the Magnetic North Pole with Top Gear.  It has remained as one of our fondest memories and we are delighted to offer journeys of a lifetime
