Their reflective performance is roughly equivalent to the high-intensity grade and above, but they meet stricter requirements than all other standard reflective tapes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For example, DOT-C2 reflective tape must comply with the FMVSS 108 standard, which requires the tape to present a good performance in its lifespan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For reflective sheeting of the same grade, there is a clear ranking of reflective performance from high to low, and the visibility difference between different colors can be as large as 10 times. Thicker materials increase the likelihood of being rigid. Strong adhesion is most likely to overcome the disadvantage of rigidity by preventing the tape from lifting. However, if the adhesive is not good enough, a thinner tape does not necessarily mean it has good flexibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While you cannot size up its adhesive property before you make your purchase and do a test, you can try to get a rough estimate of flexibility on reflective tape\u2019s thickness without backing materials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For example, if thickness without a backing film for standard prismatic reflective tapes or films reaches 400 micrometers or more, unless they are specifically designed to be soft and flexible for this specific purpose, they are more likely to become inflexible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tip 3: Different Material Options and Outdoor Durability<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We have found that the lifespan of many reflective tapes is not long. We see that many customers have reported fading or other quality issues, ranging from as short as one month to as long as one year or a bit longer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is not the true expected durability it should have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please refer to the durability list formulated according to the ASTM D4956 standard.
