The newcomer has\u00a0made its motor show debut at The Commercial Vehicle Show at The NEC, Birmingham.\u00a0The Navara OFF-ROADER\u00a0AT32 is the most capable Navara ever. Standard features include bespoke suspension that\u00a0increases ride height by 20mm, full protection of key underbody components and larger offroad\u00a0tyres. For the ultimate\u00a0performance, optional extras include a snorkel to improve wading depth and a front differential locker.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle is engineered by Arctic Trucks, the highly respected Icelandic company which specialises in building 4WD\u00a0vehicles to take on the world\u2019s harshest terrains. AT stands for Arctic Trucks and 32 represents the diameter of each offroad\u00a0tyre in inches. Using the 2016 International Pickup Award and 2017 Fleet World Magazine Best Pickup as its starting\u00a0point, the Navara OFF-ROADER\u00a0AT32 enhancements are available on different combinations of the Navara Double Cab.\u00a0Visually, the most substantial upgrade is to the Navara\u2019s suspension, which has been raised to optimise performance and\u00a0create additional ground clearance. That is now 243mm, compared with 223mm on the standard Navara. Maximum\u00a0approach angle has been increased to 35\u00b0 (up from 30.4\u00b0), while breakover angle is now 24\u00b0 (up from 22.2\u00b0).<\/p>\n<p>Other obvious enhancements include the dramatic wheel arch extensions, designed to amplify the new taller stance and\u00a0offer greater protection of the bodywork during extreme offroading.\u00a0Hidden from view are underbody protection plates\u00a0covering the engine, transmission, propeller and fuel tank.\u00a0The 17inch\u00a0alloys are designed by Arctic Trucks, while the 32inch\u00a0tyres have been selected specifically to improve offroad\u00a0traction while maintaining excellent onroad\u00a0performance. Such a large tyre diameter allows the driver to reduce\u00a0the pressure to further boost traction, for example, in soft sand or snow.\u00a0With 20mm extra ground clearance and larger tyres, overall vehicle height is increased by 40mm.<\/p>\n<p>For customers seeking the ultimate in offroad\u00a0ability, a snorkel and front differential lock are available as optional\u00a0extras.\u00a0The snorkel is attached to the Apillar\u00a0and will boost wading depth to 800mm \u2013 200mm more than the standard Navara.\u00a0It will also improve the air intake and protect the engine from heavy dust and water ingress. The front differential locker,\u00a0working in tandem with the standard Navara\u2019s rear differential locker, will provide the best possible traction on every\u00a0type of surface.<\/p>\n<p>The new features will complement the Navara\u2019s onboard\u00a0suite of advanced technologies. Standard equipment includes\u00a0Hill Start Assist, Hill Decent Control, Intelligent Emergency Braking and Intelligent Around View Monitor.\u00a0As with every Nissan LCV, the Navara OFF-ROADER\u00a0AT32 comes with an industryleading\u00a0five year\u00a0\/ 100,000 miles\u00a0warranty, plus Arctic Trucks\u2019 five year\u00a0warranty on the new components.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Smith, Managing Director, Nissan GB, said: \u201cThe Nissan Navara OFF-ROADER\u00a0AT32 is the most capable Navara\u00a0we\u2019ve ever sold, and the CV Show is the perfect location for its debut.
